A woolly farm welcome
A set of pet lambs welcomed us when we arrived at (lapsed blipper) TBay's farm in Somerset this evening.
Before long Mr hazelh and I had left our luggage in our bedroom then gathered in the drawing room for drinks with three generations of cousins:
1. TBay (my first cousin once removed),
2. TBay's son Tom and daughter Ellie (my second cousins),
3. Tom's children Phoebe (10), Harry (7), and Beatrix (3) (my second cousins once removed).
Also living here are TBay's husband James, TBay's daughter-in-law Sophie (Tom's wife), and Sophie's sister Sam. As well as the pair of us, there is another guest here for the weekend. Florence (3) is the daughter of Sophie's other sister Louella, and is cousin to Phoebe, Harry, and Beatrix.
The four smallest children took great delight in playing acrobatics with Mr hazelh while the rest of us enjoyed our drinks. Then it was time for a grown-up supper in the kitchen with TBay, James and Ellie, expertly prepared by the latter.
Earlier in the day we bid farewell to Mr hazelh's parents in Lyme Regis, then travelled to Mr hazelh's uncle Peter's house in Clifton (Bristol) by taxi, train, and bus. Mr hazelh has been keen to chat to Peter for some time in an attempt to fill in some of the gaps in the life story of his bassoonist grandfather (Peter's father). I was very happy to lie on the sofa and listen to their conversation for most of the afternoon. I popped out at one point to pick up some fizz and chocolates on Regent Street to take to our weekend hosts. (Some Clifton charity shops may have been visited.)
Transport to the farm was kindly proved by Cousin Ellie, who commutes into Bristol for work every day.
Exercise today: small amount of walking (6,804 steps).
