Hover on the brunnera
The brunnera is flowering abundantly. It looks great at this time of year but is terribly dull for 10 months. I think this is just an ordinary hoverfly enjoying the early nectar. I don't usually see them in April but the weather has been so warm that things are pretty advanced.
However it's going to be all change soon. In fact you can sense the change on its way here in the late afternoon. I have made the most of being outside today but there's a shock in store for plants and creatures.
My one expedition was round the corner to a bake sale in aid of the scout hall roof repairs. Two gf scones, a flapjack, a jar of blackcurrant jam were bought and a cup of tea in a neighbour's garden enjoyed. Very sociable.
Now it's time to relax outside for a wee while before the rain arrives.
