Common Dog Violet

Viola riviniana

They are such wonderful little flowers, aren't they?  So this was on my way through the reserve this morning, after which I went up to the butterfly reserve to see what was happening (very many brimstones, a couple of peacocks, blackthorn blossom going over, cowslips almost but not quite in full flood yet, absolutely no people up there at all)!  I have to say I'm absolutely whacked now, but it was worth it.
