Cut

I gave in to peer group pressure (all my neighbours with lawns had cut theirs) and got the mower out this afternoon. The threat of wetter, colder weather next week was also an influence. Looking back through blip, I notice that this is the latest I have posted the “first cut of the year” photo. Probably thanks to climate change. Or Trump’s tariffs.
You may have observed that I focused on the tulips rather than the mower/lawn. This is because the green bits at the front and rear of my house contain very little actual grass these days. A bit of squinting and some soft focus helps considerably when trying to kid oneself that you have luxuriant pasture outside the window.
Rather than a roughly trimmed collection of weeds that only gets attention when it threatens to block out the light in the lounge…
