How Low Can You Go
Much though I hate to say this, we could probably do with some rain soon. The promised downpour last night ended up being little more than a light shower.
Which is why the river is the lowest I’ve seen it for a long time. You could definitely walk across and barely get your feet wet.
A quiet day today. We’re both suffering from colds now, so only managed a short walk this morning. This afternoon was spent trying to reduce the amount of paperwork that has accumulated since I started looking after mum’s affairs. I’ve finally managed to get online access to most things, which means not only will all future correspondence be paperless, but a lot of what I already have is also available to view online if needed. So, half a confidential waste bag filled, ready to go to secure shredding and a bit of extra floor space in the loft. Probably fill the other half of the bag when I have a clear out of my filing cabinet over Easter.
Talking of which, if there’s one thing guaranteed to result in rain, it’s a Bank Holiday in the Lake District. And we’ve got two of them coming up in the next week. So the next picture I take of the river might show the new flood defences being put to the test…
