Follow the path
It was a beautiful day once again and I walked up and along the railway line as far as the road, then across one of the big fields and back along the edge. I thought it would be four miles but it was slightly less but satisfying nevertheless. I didn’t pass a soul.
Yellowhammers, skylarks, chiffchaffs, peacock butterflies, orange tips and speckled woods.
An afternoon spent in and out of the garden, it was hot, and then watched a raven in the top of a tree where I think it’s built a nest. There is mistletoe in the tree so I need to take a closer look. (I’m not climbing the tree). Not sure it has a mate and they’ll be in short supply around here.
This is a short stretch of the old railway line. I’m not that keen on doing it on my own as it’s remote, but why shouldn’t I?
