Late narcissi

Good garden news: the narcissi outside our spare bedroom window (blipped) sprang to life while we were away last week.

Bad garden news: the 'Daddy' lupin in our yarden, who has a 'child' in Tain (and also possibly one in Pitlochry), has fallen victim to aphids. The critters have also attacked another couple of my lupin plants. Mr hazelh popped out this afternoon to buy emergency bug spray. I applied in this evening to the lupin plants that look like they might still have some life in them.

I hardly slept at all last night, despite the return from holiday to my own bed. I therefore gave my early morning bike ride a miss, and had a lie-down (albeit again without sleep) this afternoon.

I did, however, manage a swim this morning and cooked a lovely crusted cod bake with bulgur wheat, cherry tomatoes, and artichokes for our supper.

Exercise today: swim (60 lengths); walking (11,313 steps).
