Mary Queen of Scots
Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . to learn more
We're into the last couple of weeks of the Mary Queen of Scots Silver Casket Exhibition at Kirkcudbright Art Gallery. This evening, we went to a talk about her, one of several that have been arranged to complement the exhibition.
It was given by Elisabeth Manson and was all about Mary’s journey through France, Scotland and England during the course of her ill-fated life. As President of the Mary Queen of Scots Society, having been a member for almost 30 years, Elisabeth has visited most of the places associated with Mary across the UK and met with a wide range of authors, academics, and creatives who have been inspired by the life and times of one of Scotland’s most famous women.
I've grown to respect and admire Mary, the more I have learnt about her. It has been an excellent exhibition - and will be missed when it has gone . . . . . .
