Brass Blowout / Brass Blast - Bradford 2025

Backblip for Saturday 12 April. Arranged to meet Corinthian on the bus to Bradford, then because of a phone call I missed it by seconds! Moved to cross the road to catch bus in opposite direction, but lots of traffic - luckily the bus driver spotted me and waited. So, 2 buses to Bradford and met C in the newly pedestrianised Norfolk Gardens. Sunny and very warm. Got a seat at the front ready for a free afternoon of entertainment. We sat by a chatty couple who had travelled up from Tewkesbury - lovely interesting and funny couple. We watched the West Yorkshire Fire Service Brass Band (main photo) - very smart, and excellent performance. Then came "Oi Musica" - they played some pieces themselves, then brought in members of the public (who had only had a short rehearsal) to join them. Amazing performance by all. Then there was the "New York Street Band" - comedy and musical talent combined - we were encouraged to sing along - great fun (more photos in extra collage). The "Peace Artistes" were on next, but have seen them before, so we went for a coffee before the bus home. Fabulous and fun afternoon for all ages, and a very appreciative crowd.
