Bus Pass Walk meets culture
P & B had a meeting in Bradford this afternoon, so we caught 2 buses to Lister Park this morning, with our first stop of course being the cafe! They do excellent samosas there! We then had a look around Cartwright Hall (mixture of photos in extras) where there are various exhibitions set up for the Bradford City of Culture year. One was of photos and artwork and comments by local children. One that amused me was written by a child living in our neighbouring village who commented that it was a place "full of old people"!! Another said they liked living in Bradford with its diversity and different food etc, but didn't like visits down South as nobody understood his Yorkshire accent! There was a gentleman displaying arabic calligraphy art (and later running a workshop) - one of the most beautiful items was a copy of the Quran embellished with gold leaf. After a short wander around the gardens we headed into the city centre for lunch - the main photo being taken from our table in the cafe - I think many people will recognize where we were. :-) P &B went off to their meeting to pass on some of community choir's Easter egg collection to the Bradford Soup Run Charity. We others caught 1 bus home.
