München

We are here! The best Lufthansa flight we have ever had, the plane was fully boarded 20 minutes before scheduled departure, we arrived on time and our bags were the only ones left on the carousel by the time we arrived at the baggage area. A lot of walking though, we had done 5000 steps by the time we got to the S-Bahn, where our train was ready and waiting, we just walked straight on. Daughter#2 met us at Ostbahnhof to make sure we got the right train on to Berg am Laim. 

We walked to the hotel. The Holiday Inn is now completely an Express but as I am a member we got an upgrade to the Executive 4th floor. Then on to a Bavarian restaurant to meet up with daughter#1 and the gang. Beer and schnitzel of course. A glimpse of daughter#2 through my Helles in the main blip.

We called in to their apartment too. The maypole directly outside is looking good. It's much brighter and warmer here than it was at home by the way.

I had a reasonable night at camera club. No trophies but I just missed out with a second place in the Print Panel Challenge. I got a third and a highly commended in two of the annual competitions. We have an aviation trophy but the judge didn't get my submission where I had blended a shot of the airmen running (from the Heroes and Villains blipmeet) with a poppy field, and called it The Few. There were several entries just taken from plane windows. He wasn't impressed with some of those either, saying they would make good promotional images for EasyJet, but that was all. I took a shot from our window though, I can at least have that up my sleeve for next year.

We've had an early start, good job we set two alarms as we both slept right through. The ladies have now gone off for their spa adventure. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to be doing with the grandsons later, but at least I have some time for my blip.

Also can't seem to add any extras at the moment, will try again later. Sorted now. Blipfoto couldn't handle the high resolution images from the Samsung.
