River Crouch, Hullbridge, Essex
After lunch I drove to Hullbridge to view a house for sale that I first looked at several weeks ago. I also drove down to the waterfront for some photographs, took a short stroll, talked to a couple of people, and went to the near by Co-Op for some milk and biscuits!! The house and its garden suit me very well, but the location doesn't, being too far from the water and/or the railway station and/or the nearest pub to be able to walk there - and on a road that is busier than I would like. Still, there are so many things I really like about the place so plenty to think about.
Beautiful weather today made walking and driving very pleasant. Back home not long after 4pm, and just a few minutes before Maddy arrived. It's mid-week family dinner today, the venue is here but the cook today, was my niece so Rufus got an afternoon walk while Maddy made vegetarian lasagne for 5. in my kitchen.
Everyone had arrived by 6.15 and we had a lovely time together and the lasagne was delicious. Later, when bro, nephew and his g/f had gone home, Maddy and I worked on the Literature Review section of her undergraduate project until 9.30 when she went home and I took Rufus for his evening stroll before settling down in front of BBCiPlayer for a couple of hours.
Keep thinking about the house. It's a heart or head decision - not sure who'll win.
