Cysgodion
Cysgodion ~ Shadows
“It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”
― Hubert H. Humphrey

Dim gwaith heddiw, ond roedd bywyd yn ymddangos yn ddigon blinedig. Es i i Shibashi ac yna i siopau. Erbyn i mi gyrraedd adref roedd bron amser i fynd at y meddyg.
Roedd diddorol iawn gyda'r meddyg. Gwiriodd hi fy mhwysedd gwaed ac roedd e'n dda, dda iawn. Mae'n ddiddorol oherwydd fy mesuriadau gartref un gyson yn uchel. Mae'n ddwywaith nawr rydw i wedi cael fy mhwysedd gwaed wedi'i gymryd gan weithiwr proffesiynol ac mae wedi bod yn dda. Rydyn ni'n amau'r peiriant gartref. Mae rhaid i mi fynd â'r peiriant i fod yn gwirio. Felly efallai mai fy moddion yn effeithiol. Newyddion da.
Yn ystod y diwrnod ces i amser i ymweld â'r fynwent. Tynnwyd fy llygaid at y cysgodion ar y garreg fedd hon, yn sefyll ynghanol y blodau. Os diddordeb gyda rhywun mae'n fedd Elisha Taylor a fu farw ym 1902 yn 72 oed, a'i wraig Sarah a fu farw ym 1907 yn 80 oed. Dydw i ddim yn gwybod mwy amdanyn nhw, ond rydw i'n siŵr roedd ganddyn nhw eu straeon, roedd dim ond y cysgodion tynnodd fy sylw.
Dros y ffens, fel tystiolaeth o fy niffyg chwilfrydedd ydy'r ysgol a es i am flynyddoedd. Wnes i erioed edrych ar y fynwent, a dweud y gwir, does dim cof gyda fi o'r ysgol bod ar bwys y fynwent. Mae'n teimlo pe bai roeddwn i'n cysgu tra gerdded o fy nghartref i'r ysgol ac yn ôl. Rydw i'n effro nawr, o'r diwedd. O leiaf rydw i'n meddwl.

No work today, but life seemed tiring enough. I went to Shibashi and then to shops. By the time I got home it was almost time to go to the doctor.
It was very interesting with the doctor. She checked my blood pressure and it was good, very good. It's interesting because my measurements at home are consistently high. It's twice now that I've had my blood pressure taken by a professional and it's been good. We suspect the machine at home. I have to take the machine to be checked. So maybe my medicine is effective. Good news.
During the day I had time to visit the cemetery. My eyes were drawn to the shadows on this tombstone, standing amidst the flowers. If anyone is interested it is the grave of Elisha Taylor who died in 1902 aged 72, and his wife Sarah who died in 1907 aged 80. I don't know more about them, but I'm sure they had their stories, it was just the shadows that caught my attention.
Over the fence, as testament of my lack of curiosity is the school I went to for years. I never looked at the cemetery, to be honest, I have no memory of the school being near the cemetery. It feels as if I was asleep while walking from my home to school and back. I'm awake now, finally. At least I think so.
