Now, as I see it......

Another day, another cathedral

What a difference a day makes!  Yesterday in Lincoln we were so cold we gave up on our plans to explore; today it was so warm and sunny we didn't need to wear jackets.

We had a good three days in the hotel; the food was excellent and the hotel itself was lovely, and we had a pleasant evening yesterday after dinner chatting with two other couples who were staying there.  As I was taking our luggage out to the car park this morning another guest was packing his bags into his car; a brand new and very impressive looking Rolls Royce coupé.  However, even he was trumped by the couple who arrived for dinner last night in their helicopter, parking it on the lawn outside and setting off for home again in it after breakfast this morning.  I tracked them on 'Flightradar 24' for a while heading off in the direction of Cheshire.

We decided to make a small detour to Ely on the way home for no other reason than that we knew there was a bakery there that sold very good hot cross buns.  They'd just sold out when we got there.  We still enjoyed the visit and sat having a picnic lunch looking over at the magnificent cathedral.  After that we headed home with a quick stop at 'Beers of Europe', Britain's biggest beer shop, where I stocked up on a few favourite Belgian and French beers.  A good few days setting us up for Easter!

Many thanks for all the stars and hearts over the last couple of days; sorry I've not had time to thank everyone!
