David Hall, aka Nostalgia_kid, gave a talk at the Hexham Photography Group tonight.
He is a relative newcomer to photography, starting with his mobile phone 12 years ago and moving on to a digital camera when he won it in a competition.
He has photographed a lot of local bands over these years and is very keen to photograph in and around Newcastle. An early project was making images near his bus stop in Pilgrim Street (in the Toon) and one alleyway near by.
His work is well observed and composed.
We had a good discussion at the end about the ethics of photographing protests. Kendall would have liked to be part of that.
See him on Instagram.
It was a chilly day and the sun never appeared. Joan came and did ironing for me. She ironed a pair of curtains and hung them at the appropriate window, while I was pottering on with more clearing out, filling bags for a charity shop.
I started to learn more about my MacBook this afternoon.
