Cast adrift

Went up to see some friends today in Fife. They moved recently to a place called Newburgh on the Firth of Tay, and have bought a house which they are busily renovating. A really lovely house in a pretty, picturesque spot with lovely gardens. The house is just a few minutes from the shore, and we walked in the sunshine along the shore and through the town. The place has quite a history, although all the sea-borne trade has long since disappeared. The tide was low, and a couple of boats languished in the mud, unreachable until the tide turned.
