Canitrail RAID Day 1

The original 40k route was pared down - to prevent dog overheating- to about 31k.
The start was delayed accordingly- to after lunch.
We started off quite well - walking up, jogging on flat or downhill. But, after a while, Laura’s bad knee (injured on one of the practice runs) started playing up - especially on the downhill sections. So we slowed down.
In the end, Laura and I finished in the dark with Jo not far ahead of us. Fielding calls from the organiser to check that we were OK! The campsite was in the middle of a wind turbine farm. Unsurprisingly, it was windy. Tough putting up the tiny tent in the dark , cold and rain.
Great trails though and a good day.
