Reconnecting

Went for a walk with LittleA today, partly to get her out and about but also partly to get myself into gear too. I feel somewhat disconnected from her now she’s in her mid-teens (something I’m told is incredibly normal for most Dads), which I don’t like one bit. On our walk she told me she was doing a project in her GCSE Photography on the theme of ‘lines’ and was feeling a distinct lack of inspiration, so I tried to gee her up by showing her that even something as mundane as the section of boring grey road you are walking on can be full of interesting lines, like miniature pathways and connections in themselves. Not sure if the inspiration advice fully worked (her camera stayed put in her pocket for the rest of our bonding trundle home) but it did make her think a little bit I’m sure.
