Happy Birthday(s)

A double birthday celebration - Stuart’s partner Amanda turns 60 and Route 66 drummer James has made it to the ripe old age of 38! Today wasn’t the actual date of either of those birthdays but Stu and Amanda are off to Scotland for a few days tomorrow, so it was the only chance to have a little party before the event, so to speak.
Other than that, it’s been a fairly typical Bank Holiday Monday - grey and overcast for most of the day with occasional showers. We had a session in the gym this morning and took advantage of going through to Barrow by setting off early and getting a few things from shops we don’t have in Kendal, before going to the party.
Amanda’s cake was not entirely unexpected, but James had no idea he was going to get one as well! The one “person” who missed out was Ken (the greyhound) as letting him in the house whilst cake was around would have been a recipe for disaster. Hence the doleful look on his face as he peers in from the garden…
