A Rose is a Rose is a Damselfly

And I can’t unsee the somewhat sinister shadow of the Easter Bunny pondering his next move.

More gardening today: digging up one thing to plant another, continuing to put in tomatoes, miscellaneous weeding. I was moving very slowly today, so everything took longer. But it was nice out and just pleasant to be poking around the garden.

There is a bird’s nest at the top of the lemon tree, which is right by the barbecue and on the main path to the back yard. I’m trying not to startle the occupants, but even though I’ve made somewhat of a barricade to remind everyone to go around, the poor things jump when people get close. I don’t see how we can avoid the area long enough to raise an entire family of whatever birds these are but we’ll try. Except for human traffic it looks to be a cozy site, nicely hidden by a circle of lemons.
