Doin' the didge' thing
Perambulated with Howard for awhile this afternoon. He was keen to get a last touristy photo of himself - this time he managed to include both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the didge' lads in the one shot. Howard was adamant that he have some 'Aussie' photos of himself, so that if he finds his biological mother during this upcoming trip he can show them to her.
The poor little guy. Every time he goes overseas and renews his search to find his mum he starts off so optimistic... and at the end of each trip, when we've been unable to track her down, he gets so depressed. It's heart-breaking to watch him go through this, year after year.
But I think it's about time he accepts that maybe she left him in a basket on the church steps because she just didn't want to be a mother. He needs to stop coming up with fantasy scenarios where she was forced to give him up, to stop chasing leads about his alleged twin brother and sightings of his mum, and just move on with his life. You know, meet a nice girl and settle down. Have some grass and be mellow.
