Amazingly, I'm not dead (although right now I kind of feel like I am). Bit off WAY more than I can chew, juggling the Edinburgh Fringe Festival events with the traditional building seminars at the same time.
Much to catch up on blip wise for the past several days. :-( As far as this blip goes, god knows what it's like- its straight off the memory card and all but selected at random from the general stadium shots (Approx 300-400 shots to choose from so I'm not wading through those looking for a good shot, sorry!)
But today: the morning spent at Acheson House learning about traditional stone masonry. Had a crack at dressing stone and discovered local stone was quite soft and chipped off as soon as you swung a mallet and sharp pointy tools in its direction. Also that stone masons the world over have that same joke about pigeon-pecked/sparrow-dabbed detail on finished stone.
Post-seminar:Luisa and I viciously assaulted a piece of Victoria sponge cake (which was truly excellent).
Late afternoon: off to listen to John Lloyd (as in Blackadder, QI, Not the Nine O'Clock News etc).
Followed by: some gin, then off for some serious queuing for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (well, it just had to be done, didn't it?).
