Abstract Thursday: "As Abstract as Possible"!

I was delighted to see Ingeborg's chosen theme for this week's AT challenge; my blip followers will know that I do love messing about with images to make them abstract. As you can see I took Ingeborg at her word!

Over the weekend I signed up to some free on-line tutorials on the use of blending modes in Photoshop - I already knew the principles but the tutor gave some super ideas for using them to make textures, overlays, abstracts, etc. (The tutorials are no longer available now unless you pay for the whole course.) Anyway I had great fun this afternoon creating this "mess", which resulted from blending together 5 different photos taken in the garden (along with a bit of defocus and distortion of some of the layers).

Do you see an evil face? I do - I centered the thumbnail on it!
