Widwed: "Life"...goes on in spite of obstructions!

The pedestrianised main shopping street here in Newcastle (upon Tyne) is undergoing a major revamp at the moment, which includes the replacement of all the old worn-out paving: hence the erection of temporary barriers as they do the work bit by bit. However, life goes on more or less as normal - so I decided this would suit Bobsblips's Widwed challenge on "life" today.

(When I was a kid, the main A1 road to Scotland ran up this street! So even with the obstacles it's a lot better than that!)
