White Horse of Waimate

The weather was again very kind to us today. The golfers went off and had a great game, while I went and visited a friend who moved to Waimate about 3 years ago. We had a wonderful catch up in her beautiful villa.

After lunch, we walked up a steepish hill to see the white horse in the hill. Built to acknowledge the draft horses who helped clear the land when the Europeans Settlers arrived here.
The views north and south were outstanding.

We are really enjoying this lovely town- we are staying in a former convent and it’s so comfortable and great for our group.
