Somewhere on this framed photograph is Mr hazelh's bassoonist grandfather. We don't know where, however! The picture was lying in the study amongst the bits and pieces that we retrieved from Mr hazelh's step-mother at the beginning of March. Since we have a guest sleeping in that room tomorrow evening, we thought that we should move it out of the way. It now hangs in our back corridor (or Corrindor, since we named the route to our spare room after our old lodger).

I've been engaged in a lot of admin today. Amongst other things, I have arranged to see two of my best friends from undergraduate days in July. We're going to meet in York. Bookings have been made for trains, accommodation, and food. I also worked a little more on my piece for The conversation, and drafted some text for a Wikipedia entry.

The surgeon told me on Wednesday that I would be allowed to return to exercise today, so I went for a run.

Exercise today: 9 mile run; walking (22,837 steps, mainly running).
