Cairn beauty
Such a beautiful day. I helped out with the Cairn Conservation Carers this morning - Ley and Wal were on holiday, but we were joined by a new volunteer, Jed, who seems very nice. We cleared a path of some very thick brambles, and had a good recce all over, looking for the stolen bench from Cherry Tree Glade. We didn't find it, but we did find a camp with all sorts of tools, knives (including a flick knife, which Jo took to hand in to the police), a bong and a catapult. Whoever has been using it has done a lot of work, terracing the land and digging out a fire pit, etc. The knives were a bit worrying though (so we confiscated all of them).
Later on in the afternoon, I went back over to the Cairn with Tim and we had a lovely walk in the late afternoon light. We took the drone and had a little fly around the bluebells - but I've realised I am horribly amateur, and the drone movement was all rather jerky (and I crashed it a couple of times). Ah well, fun trying. And it was just so beautiful in there. I was happy to capture this bee checking out all the bluebells :)
