Carnival time

Well, it will be a week today but unfortunately I'll be missing this annual Chobham highlight as I'll be driving back from the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. But it was good to see a topper on this postbox outside the village hall as they used to be a regular occurrence here. My wife had her second cataract operation today, so that's both eyes now done and she can look forward to having near perfect vision although I think she may still need reading glasses. It was a different hospital but the same hospital group. She was second on the list and ready for me to pick her up after an hour or so. Full marks to the NHS. She only had a 3 or 4 months wait after referral for the first op and then two months between the first and second. And only one set of drops this time.
