No other like it

Spent the day working on a photographic project, winnowing a thousand pictures down to four hundred. My eyes grew tired and my mind weary of pictures and words. Done, I wandered down to the river during rush hour and sat very still among the Queen Anne’s Lace, the wild blackberries, and the clematis. The roar of traffic faded into the sky. Each plant is dear to itself, consumed with itself, enormously important to itself.
