Windermere
Today six of us fitted into one car (don't worry it was a seven seater) and drove up to Windermere and specifically to the lake. After parking we walked along the lake shore into Bowness and found a coffee shop near the pier. While waiting for our drinks, the 'Teal' came in to dock right outside the window.
We continued our walk through the town, then returned to the car to go to the Lakeland shop, where apart from looking at the opportunities to buy things we hadn't known we needed till we saw them, we had a delightful lunch in the restaurant. More opportunities to shop followed, before we began the journey back to our friends house via some very wiggly roads to the 'seaside at Arneside. This is situated on an inlet at the northern end of Morecambe Bay. When we arrived the tide was out, and the rain was falling. By the time we left the tide had raced in, we had enjoyed another tea/coffee shop, and it was still raining!
A thoroughly enjoyable day with friends with lots of opportunity to relax, chat and laugh. Just what was needed by us all.
