old and new

Took mum into the city for a medical appointment today and while she had an injection in her eye!!!!(which sounds more like Clockwork Orange or a scene from Bunuel's Un Chien Andalou, the eye thing that is) I declined the invitation to be in the room and pottered around in the street.
While not quite Harley Street, this is medical specialist central with a combination of flash new buildings and old federation houses now their 'rooms.'

Some have been beautifully restored with tuck pointing and snipped box hedges while others are a tad sad.
This one of the latter and probably ready to be bulldozed and redeveloped.
The grapevine is hanging on come hell, high water and modernisation!
