Lathyrus Odoratus

View from the top...

Something of a red letter day - it started with A level results for my daughter (4A*s) confirming her place at Oxford, moved onto seeing (for the first time) a clouded yellow butterfly at lunchtime, completion of the new conservatory in the afternoon and ending the day on top of the tower at St John's sub Castro for some unique views across Lewes. This Victorian church is one of the tallest buildings in the town and has a castellated tower with octagonal turrets designed as a kind of mirror to the nearby castle keep. During a chance encounter last weekend I asked if I could possibly visit the roof - which is very definitely closed to the public - to take some photographs. This is the view south towards Brack Mount(which featured in my blip of 8th July).
