SUGAR RUSH

Struggling to sleep, as did the 'mini birthday'* girl until a short while ago. She leaves tomorrow. Nine days is such a short time, but we trust we have made it seem to her like an unforgettable time that will have impact for years to come. The Professor said very wisely that we can only drop pebbles in the pond - who knows were the ripples will reach.

Tomorrow we swop a lively seven year old for a teenager.

* It's not her actual 8th birthday for two weeks, but we had a mini party for her this evening, much enjoyed by everyone, including her wee cousin the VIP, whose adoring eyes followed her everywhere.
