From the sublime to the ridiculous

Hmmmm. What to choose from this day's photos....

Shots of the sunlight streaming through the trees at Tuolomne Meadows, where we packed up camp after a really bad night (I'll just say that illness and freezing tents don't go well together).

Or shots of the endless straight desert roads across a piece of Nevada that was emptier than anything I've ever come across in America before. Never knew you could be so far from a gas station. It got scary.

And then Vegas at night. Lights. Lots of lights. Ridiculous New York New York skyline. Dancing fountains. Heat. People.

I just like this picture. Las Vegas goes so far along the scale of tackiness, that it almost comes back around again. And, if you look closely, some of the details are really cool.
