Windmills, no tulips

Quick snap out the window, passing through Palm Springs en route to Dana Point.

Palm Springs used to be famous as the winter playground of Hollywood stars like Bob Hope and Dean Martin. These days, there are fewer people who know those names so it's almost become more famous fir it's windmills.

There's a funny quirk of geography that makes it a great site so there are thousands of windmills. This photo doesn't begin to do it justice. In the spaces between the tall ones, there are short ones, in many places.

Dinner and drinks with some of the CU crew at an overpriced (but good) seafood place last night then off to work this morning, while K sleeps late and avails herself of the resort amenities. Trying to focus on why that's ok.
