Tellin Stories

Couple of festival things today. First off a comedy podcast recording at lunchtime, usual mixed bag. The compere John Moloney was slick, Lee Camp was rough but decent value and Beardyman's improv beatbox skills were impressive. The rest will be coming to a panel show near you anytime soon, don't bother watching it.

In the evening it was up to the book festival to hear Tim Burgess discussing his career. He was endearing and likeable, but having read already read the book nothing much new was revealed. Ian Rankin did a great job of rescuing some of the answers which at times were hesitant and distracted. Everything felt tempered by the death of Jon Brookes earlier in the week and at you could tell that going back through memory lane was difficult for him. During the Q&A he was asked, somewhat inevitably, about his favourite Charlatans song. He chose this one, if I was pushed I would be picking this one.
