Bridge of Terror!
So today we were taken on a free tour of the city. Our first stop was the Sky Tower where we were told one lucky person would be jumping off the top! You had to choose heads or tails by putting your hands on your head or bum, then the guide flipped a coin, the last one standing had to jump! Lucky for me, I was out in the first round, phew! We were taken to a few nice sights and on a brief trail walk to see New Zealand's silver fern, then onto lunch in a great little pub, where we got free beer, nice :) After fish and chips and a couple of beers, we headed to the Harbour Bridge for a bridge walk. We were given harnesses and a hard hat and we actually walked along the side of the bridge on a metal gangway where you could see the sea beneath, this is itself was enough to freak me out, but then we had to climb lots of steps, then go up a steep little ladder into the bungee pod. By the time we got up there I was completely freaked out and shaking! A couple of brave souls did bungee jumps and then we headed back down. I had to will my legs to keep working, I can't remember ever being so terrified in my life :( Anyway, I survived and have determined that I should never consider doing a bungee jump or any activity associated with heights!
In the evening we headed to a bar to see Ali play at an open mic night. She absolutely rocked the house and the owner was so impressed by her that he gave her a $50 bar tab, which she kindly shared with her loyal fans!
