Life is a Challenge!

By Honeycombebeach

Q is for QUESTION

I came across three books in my library that have a QUESTION in the title:

WHO AM I, GOD? by Marjorie Holmes - first published in 1971
A book of prayers, the first three lines of which are:
Oh, God, who am I?
Where did I come from and where am I going?
What am I doing here?

A very useful and encouraging book with prayers that I have used over the years.

DO PLASTIC SURGEONS TAKE VISA? by Kathy Peel - first published in 1992
The first line of this book is:
"Mommy, did you know your legs are lumpy like cottage cheese?"

This is a humorous book by an American author that I have read and marked several times over the years and although my children asked lots of questions, I'm glad they never asked this one!

Turning to a page at random, I found this:
"You are only young once but you can be young at heart forever. Are you feeling depressed because you are getting older? Ask yourself, What have I always wanted to do? Give yourself the freedom to do it!

WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR? by Rick Warren - first published in 2002
(The Purpose Driven Life)
The first line of this book is:
"It's not about you."

I sometimes need to be reminded of that!

Some searching questions - and I only know some of the answers, but I know that the closer I get to God, the more answers I will find.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside QUIET waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever.
Psalm 23
New International Version

I wasn't going to quote Psalm 23 in full, but thought it might be relevant to someone today.
