Sign of the times

Another glorious day. We took to our bikes this morning for a variant of our regular 10 mile circuit. The beach was filling up fast but it was this modified sign that caught the eye unexpectedly and gave us a chuckle. Thankfully, the puncture seemed to hold up fine. And with the good weather continuing, we decided to head to Arran tomorrow for the day. So, this evening, the bikes were back on the car roof. In the process, we over-tightened one of the securing arms and the bolt stuck in its plastic housing – how infuriating! We tried numerous ways of coaxing it loose but, as the light began to fade, had to resort to a hacksaw as the only solution. Now we would be unable to lock the bike on the rack but we could still secure it with the bolt. At least it would do for tomorrow.
