More of the same

Apart from Angie dashing off early to the "small animal" market in Buchloe to get 6 new 21 week old large chickens and then going for a ride, day was similar to the last few. Lovely weather, the rain forecast for evening hasn't yet arrived as I post (19:00).

Yes we have far too many chickens but they are the bantams. We need more large eggs as family & friends are happy to get all we can supply. Last week we lost one of the large chickens, judging by the "kill site", a bird of prey although only 3 meters from our fence and in fairly thick trees. We also have stopped the brooding season so hopefully more eggs. I actually like the bantam eggs as they seem to have more yolk % than the large ones, just need 2 or 3 to have the same quantity as 1 normal egg.
