Urban Folk Quartet

Green Man, Day Three.

Urban Folk Quartet played a blinder of a set at the Chai Wallah's tent; it was laugh-out-loud brilliant, with a fantastic crowd having a great time. For me, this was the stand-out set of the whole three days. So much better than the dull-as-ditchwater Saturday-night headline act, a woefully earnest group of Neil-Young-inspired rockers who seemed unaware that any new music had been made since 1974.

Public Service Broadcasting were fab too, brought back memories of dance music from c.1990-1992, sprinkled with spoken-voice samples; one innovation being that twenty years later the 808 drum machine had been replaced by a human drummer. Progress.
