Learning Chess

After some initial reluctance, a bit of re-framing the proposition got Orla totally into the idea of playing chess this afternoon. We were very impressed when she recognised, without any assistance, that one of her "horsies" was able to capture a pawn. She then watched a YouTube video about playing chess three times in succession.

She seemed to enjoy school again today. She told us that she "got lost" when she should've been following Mrs Currie, and another teacher found her and took her back to her class. Who knows what really happened. She came out without her school bag so had to go back in for it. It was only once we got home that I realised she had left her brolly and her water bottle.
