A flying visiting trip to Essex today to visit E's aunt in Colchester, then a dear friend in Layer.

The A120 is a strange road. It's really very fast for quite a long way. Then it stops in the middle of nowhere, and you're stuck behind Chelsea Tractors doing 45 for no readily apparent reason for the rest of the trip.

The A12, which we travelled on for a short way, always brings back mixed memories of living in Chelmsford many years ago.
