River Building at Hug Point

So yesterday we came across a local beach, called Hug Point, and we decided to spend today, our last day, there. It is an amazing place. Actually, I have to say it's one of the most fun and exciting beaches I have ever been at. There is a mini waterfall coming off this tiny elevated river, lots of caves, tide pools, drift wood and coves. Just tons of scope for endless adventures. If only I were a little boy again. Oh well.
This blip is of a Daddy and Daughter built river made by cutting a channel from the main "delta" coming off the mini waterfall. Our river kinda blocked off the other beach goes as they had to step over it to get past. Here you see a little girl looking at Holly, as she was working on fortifying the river banks from corrosion, before stepping over to join her family.
After the river building we did dam building, exploring, learning to throw Frisbees, eating sandwiches and wading into the freezing surf - and I mean freezing - and watching sandcastles get eaten by the incoming tide.
When we finally called it a day and packed up, we went to Canon Beach to grab a bite to eat before heading back to Portland. We were in no rush to get back to the heat. However, when we finally did get back the weather was not so hot. It was a nice 82F and falling. Thankfully we managed to miss the worst of the heat and had a fun time of it too.
