....twisted fire starter.......
Hooray....after a week we finally got our hot water back.
The boiler we had fitted last year stopped working just over a week ago.
We couldn't get it to repressurise......a call to our engineer revealed he was just at the airport going for a weeks holiday. He's such a brilliant guy....and reasonably priced.... we decided to struggle on until he got back.
He landed in the early hours of this morning and arrived at our front door at 10.30. Fifteen minutes later he had found the problem....a leak on a radiator valve....the pipe work is covered in a white plastic sheath to blend into the skirting...and the water was leaking down the inside of the sheath...so there was no evidence...no damp carpet...no water stain.
30 minutes later he had repaired the leak, bled all the radiators, tested the heating and serviced the boiler!
The price ? £110 + vat.............I talked him into £110 for cash!
Coaching tonight was relaxed and pleasant...all the 15 kids caught fish...and then, after they had all gone.....Shaun decided on some drastic horticulture. Several months ago someone planted some little conifers near the fishing hut....they instantly died....so we've had these brown bushes stiicking out of the ground. Shaun decided to either get rid of them...or revive them.....by burning them....only being Shaun he decided that what was needed was some petrol to get the fire going.
The resulting conflagration could be seen all over the complex...and possibly several miles away!
Maybe mechanics should stick to mechanicing and leave horticulture to those of us who know something about it.
