Ice in the sun

The sun is in and out today, so June and I shared a sandwich and a toasted tea cake at Tesco, Danestone.
They use ice with a hole through the middle for their iced coffee.
It means, as you can see here, that some of the delicious coffee foam sticks in the middle and is wasted.
How do they get the holes in the ice I wonder?
