Flutterbies
There's a particular path over Iron Hill which has turned into a bit of an avenue of buddleia of late and it was awash with butterflies this morning. At one point they were flying all around me, rather like when you go to a butterfly house. I'm planning on a return visit tomorrow with my other lens but, for now, here is a Peacock and a Red Admiral who seemed happy to hang out together.
In other news, another night of little sleep due to sore throat and blocked nose and engineering works on the railway line (loud and persistent metal drilling for several hours). At 4 am the noise finally stopped and I thought I'd get a bit of shut-eye....two minutes later there were sounds of carnage in the garden as some predator or other killed what sounded like a frog first and then a small rodent, both of which made Polly bark of course. After I finally got to sleep some time later I was woken rather unnecessarily by Chris Evans at 7 am when my radio came on. How can anyone be that perky so early in the morning?
Oh, and I took the boys into Guildford this afternoon and blew £200 on footwear for the new school term which is fast approaching.
If only I felt like consuming alcohol!
