Great Blue Heron at our pond

We arrived back in Tamworth NH late this afternoon at the family house we rent from my cousin. Here's a blip from the first day of last year's stay, to provide some context.

We were having our aperitif on the screen porch with its gorgeous view when Marylee spied this heron at a small pond across the road which sometimes serves as a swimming hole. It's surrounded by bushes, so it was difficult to get any sort of a decent shot, but I think this works. The heron was in view more or less for at least a half hour, but we did not see him pursue any prey.
