A Little Light Reading

The highlight of the day apart from a sociable lunch and coffee was the arrival of this volume. I read the first volume which dealt with the years 1919 to 1933 on my Kindle during the holidays. Now I can turn my attention to the years 1933 to 1939.

Words such as"magisterial", "authoritative and absorbing" are much used by the critics and I have to say that despite its length the first volume was a rattling good read.

I am sure this will be equally enthralling even though the outcome is not in doubt.
