Victorian Munificence

For the past year this fine building was covered in scaffolding as it was cleaned and restored. It is the George A. Clark Town Hall in Paisley which is used for a variety of functions from beer fests to school prize-givings. Later this year the Mod will be in Paisley and no doubt much of it will take place in this venue.

The Clarks were mill owners as were the Coats family both of whom gave something back to the town which made their fortune. The restored building is a central feature of the area now known as the Abbey Quarter.
